Singapore's Libeara raises $14m in a GSR-led round to scale regulated tokenization rails

On June 23 Libeara, a Singapore-based digital-asset infrastructure provider focused on tokenizing real-world assets for institutions, announced the close of a $14 million strategic funding round led by global market maker GSR. The round drew a mix of strategic and financial backers: Openspace Capital, Kyobo Life Insurance Group, AlloyX, Monk's Hill Ventures, Kaia Investment Partners and Simsan Ventures. The capital is earmarked for global expansion of Libeara's institutional-grade tokenization infrastructure.

The investor list skews toward distribution rather than technology — a Korean life insurer, regional venture firms and an Asia-focused digital-asset partner. Chief executive Aaron Gwak framed the partners as a way to localize and scale the firm's infrastructure across diverse markets, while Openspace's Shane Chesson called Libeara a platform positioned to set the standard for how tokenized assets scale.

Philippines' SunAsia and Vietnam's VinEnergo commit $406m to a 422-MWp floating-solar portfolio

On June 22 the Philippines' SunAsia Energy and Vietnam's VinEnergo announced a joint venture to develop a 422-MWp solar-on-water portfolio across Pampanga and Negros Occidental in the Philippines, an estimated $406 million investment. The projects span roughly 700,000 solar panels and 62 kilometres of transmission lines, and are projected to supply about 278,000 homes annually while cutting carbon emissions by an estimated 460,888 tonnes a year.

Engineering and development are slated for the next 18 months, with commercial operations targeted for 2027–2028. The partners are pairing the Philippines' aquaculture heritage with Vietnam's shrimp-export expertise, citing the compatibility of floating solar with water-based aquaculture. SunAsia chief executive Tetchi Capellan framed the tie-up around energy security and economic growth; VinEnergo's Nguyen Anh Khoa pointed to sustainable energy growth and responsible resource use.

Singapore's H3 Zoom closes an oversubscribed $3.6m Series A for AI infrastructure inspection

Singapore deep-tech firm H3 Zoom announced on June 22 the final close of an oversubscribed $3.6 million Series A led by JRE Ventures, the corporate venture arm of East Japan Railway Company. SGInnovate, M7 Holdings, AngelCentral's AC S525 syndicate, Moringa Ventures and Lotus One Investment also took part. The company builds AI-powered inspection and asset-intelligence software for the built environment, combining AI models, computer vision and drone- and robotics-enabled data capture with workflow automation to cut inspection cost and time.

The funding will support expansion across Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian market. Founder and chief executive Shaun Koo called the oversubscribed close a validation of the company's mission, while JRE Ventures' Junichi Eto framed H3 Zoom as part of a next generation of social-infrastructure transformation — a reference to the rail operator's interest in inspecting ageing physical assets.

Eyes on the Day Ahead

No single hard deadline falls in the next 24–48 hours, so the items worth tracking sit in the next three to five days. The half-year close on June 30 will bring H1 2026 funding tallies for Southeast Asia, a read on whether the AI-infrastructure and digital-asset deal flow seen this month held across the region. Indonesia's OJK authentication-upgrade deadline for licensed crypto traders also lands at month-end, a compliance gate for smaller operators, while Vietnam's licensed-exchange pilot framework continues to inch toward its stated 2026 start.
